The Alpharetta Business Association is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and we have been reflecting on the 25 reasons to do business in our City. Earlier this year, we posted the first five, then soon followed up with five more. Here is our next list of Alpharetta’s amazing qualities.
Excellent Selection of Flexible Office Space
Alpharetta offers the largest office and retail market in North Atlanta with 20 million square feet of office space, 8.5 million square feet of retail and one of the lowest vacancy rates in metro Atlanta. The upscale, mixed-use development Avalon offers 500,000 square feet of retail space and 105,000 square feet of Class A office space over retail. The City also features more than a dozen coworking venues, which are great places to collaborate, hang out and work with others.
Growing and Diverse Population
Alpharetta’s 60,000+ resident population zooms to more than 122,000 people who work, eat and shop in the city in the daytime. Sixty-six percent of those residents have a bachelor’s degree or higher, more than double the national average. While the median age of residents is 37, the city offers a wide range of activities, amenities and programs for young children to seniors.
Small Town Feel with Big City Opportunities
Founded in 1858 as a small farming community, Alpharetta has grown into an integral part of the Metro Atlanta area, while balancing its small-town charm with big city amenities. In addition to the high-end Avalon development, the City is also home to thriving downtown area, the 12,000-seat Ameris Bank Amphitheatre, numerous art galleries, world-class shopping and dining, and many award-winning theaters. In addition, Wills Park Equestrian Center hosts horse shows, rodeos and dog shows.
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Located 22 miles from one of the busiest airports in the world, Alpharetta also offers easy accessibility to major highways and rapid transportation options. Rapid transit routes provide easy access to Atlanta, and four major highways will get you on the road to where you want to go.
Green Space and Recreation Options
Green isn’t the official color of Alpharetta, but it could be! Alpharetta has more than 750 acres of park land offering recreational sports programs for all ages, hiking, bike trails, dog parks, arboretums and more. Big Creek Greenway offers eight miles of a beautiful and tranquil setting for walking, jogging, inline roller blading and biking. The partnership among public, private and many community partners is one of the reasons the city is consistently named a desirable place to play, live, work and retire.
